New ContributorWe still use AS programming mode on one of our legacy products during our manufacturing process. We also program the flash indirectly but there are times we have to use AS programming mode.
Based on what you are saying though it sounds like it is unlikely that there will be support for AS Mode. Thanks for the info!

Altera should answer the question . Up to now, only embedded UB3 versions have been implemented. A standalone UB3, that is likely to come after stock exhaustion of USB Blaster II due to obsolescence of Cypress USB interface chip, hasn't been yet specified.
I have seen embedded USB Blaster with AS function latest for Cyclone 3 dev kits.
