Regarding Tool Licensing

Greetings from Qdit Labs,

We had bought a Intel FPGA board with this part no.

  • Altera Cyclone® V SE 5CSEMA4U23C6N device

Please let us know the following details:

1) Does this product include licensed software at no extra cost, or do we need to buy the license separately.

2) What are the supported free intellectual properties (IPs) for this board, and does the Signal TAP tool come included at no cost, or does it require a separate license?

    Quartus lite edition can be used with this device, which is free, but purchase of a new board might have included a license for Standard. You should inquire with whoever you purchased the board from. That's a pretty old board so it's not clear.

    Signal Tap is included with all editions of Quartus, no separate cost or license.

    IP is included in the IP Base Suite which is included with Standard edition but needs a license if you use Lite: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/programmable/intellectual-property/ip-base-suite.html

    Thanks for the reply,

    We have this specific part no of the FPGA

    • Altera Cyclone® V SE 5CSEMA4U23C6N device,

    but in Quartus tool it shows 5CSEMA4U23C6 this only , so whether N in the last matters or not?
