Programming SOF file for CXL/PCIe IP in DK-DEV-AGI027-RA

Hello

I was trying to program Agilex 7 device in DK-DEV-AGI027-RA using SOF file (having CXL/PCIe IP) then after rebooting the host, I found that lspci couldn't enumerate the board in linux.

But if I use same SOF file to generate POF and then program the same in board flash memory then after reboot board enumeration is successful.

So my question is do we need to use some different setting while programming PCIe/CXL based SOF file in board.

Note:- Switch 2 settings are as follows
SW2[1:4] ON/OFF/OFF/OFF

    Hi Madhur,

    I'd like to confirm with you that you're saying CXL IP, for which type?

    What's the Quartus version and OS?

    Hello Rong

    I am talking about CXL type 3, anyway it can be PCI IP as well.

    Quartus Prime version 24.3.1

    OS is Ubuntu 20.04.1

    You mean even with the PCIe IP you will get the same result?

    Ok, let's for the sake of simplicity of discussion, let's consider CXL IP here.

    The point which I want to highlight here, is it possible to program Agilex board with SOF file and still discover the board during host lspci enumeration.

    If yes, then

    a. what are the steps to be followed?

    b. and what board settings needs to be done?

    Hi Madhur,

    Using pof is the suggested method in user guide. I tried from my end with different dev kit, the sof doesn't work.
