[Noob] DE0-Nano + RS232 +16x2 LCD

Question

Hi Everyone,

I am a complete newbie , I recently bought myself a Terasic DE0-Nano for educational purpose.

I gave myself a small project but do not know where to start.

I would like to connect a 16x2 LCD to the DE0-Nano board and the board to my PC via RS232(USB to Serial Comms).

And send a string using Teraterm to the DE0 Nano,to display to the LCD.

Can anyone advice me on where to start, Tutorials,Videos, Anything

Hi Mpho11,

I'm not sure if that's exactly what you would have wanted, but here's a link http://www.alteraforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=38684 that you might want to take a look first.

You shouldn't have too much trouble on the display part once the communication between your PC and the DE0-Nano board is established.
