Honored ContributorSorry for the late reply... but the link didn't bring me much further. Thanks anyway. What I'm doing now is looking at the example driver given in
"DDR and DDR2 SDRAM High-Performance Controller User Guide" http://www.altera.com/literature/ug/ug_ddr_ddr2_sdram_hp.pdf I think this can be changed and used for my purpose. Thanks for all help!
