gdb server for usbblaster II on cyclon V SoC

Hi,

Is there a way to get a gdb server up and running for connecting to it e.g. from gdb for the usbblaster II on cyclon V Soc boards? I would like to use this for loading and debugging some bare metal software. I know something like this works for nios boards. But not all of the nios command line tools seem to be available for my cyclone V. Or at least their naming and usage is not 100% clear to me.
