Facing obsolescence problem in FPGA based PCBs. Is it wise to mount FPGA on piggy backed board instead of assembling the FPGA directly on PCB?

There is no official socket design/piggyback connectivity test specification.

You can discuss with the socket vendor directly or board design team for more input.
