So the hardware does have the correct IDs.
You're using web edition 11.1SP2 right - the other thread indicated that the USB-Blaster did not work with that version. Did you try 11.1SP1?

I am unsure why I needed a trial license to actually, they said, use the ram if I don't. Like I said I know very little about FPGA's I wish I had gotten one without NIOSII as the project I wanted to use is actually compiled for a simpler setup. Had no idea that this would make it not work.

You don't have to use NIOS II. Its an FPGA, you program what you want in there. The trial license may be for the low-power DDR IP. Just ignore it, unless you need to use the DDR of course.
