In general there is guidelines for the board design , not specific to the trace length only recommendation.

But why did Intel did not provide the max traces length that the driver can support?

It will give us a reference for placement.

The Trace length depends up on many external factors , Like board , Thermal, Signal strength , No: of channels Etc .

If the value is fixed and is related to chip ,definitely the value will be provided in the data sheet after characterization. Hope you understand
