By the way, I had no end of problems getting this guy to work on 64-bit Linux. It finally worked very intermittently. We've just tried 32-bit and it seems solid in our limited tests so far. Using Quartus 10.

On the hardware side, no pci-express design except the Gen1 1x would boot for me on a Core i7 box using the Vertex 4 on the Terasic DE4, so we're using that design.
