Why is the SmartVID related setting “Number of slave device” changed unexpectedly?

Description

Due to a problem in the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 22.3, you might find that the “Number of slave device” setting is changed in the Device & Pin Option -> Power Management & VID tab. This occurs when there are more  “PMBus device # slave address” values provided than there are slave devices selected.

Resolution

To work around this problem, change the unused slave address to “00”.

This problem is fixed starting with the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 22.4.
