Why do Intel Agilex® 7 devices fail to configure and fail to fall back to the factory image after updating a RSU application image?

Description

Due to a problem in the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 22.2, you might see Intel Agilex® 7 devices fail to configure and fail to fall back to factory image after updating a RSU application image. The application image mentioned here is referring to a valid application image for another device different to the actual device used on board. 

 

Note: If the application image itself is an invalid or corrupted image, you will see configuration fails and device configures another application image or falls back to factory image, but you will not see the problem mentioned in this KDB article.

Resolution

To fix this problem for Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 22.2, download and install the following patch:

• Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software v22.2 Patch 0.45fw for Linux 
• Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software v22.2 Patch 0.45fw  for windows 
• Readme for Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software v22.2 Patch 0.45fw 

 

This problem is scheduled to be fixed in a future release of Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software.
