Why am I seeing an unknown value ‘0’ for the FEC mode parameter in the IP catalog for the F-tile Ethernet Hard IP?

Description

Due to a problem in the Quartus® Prime Pro Edition software version 25.3, you may see the unknown value ‘0’ for the FEC mode parameter in the IP catalog for the F-tile Ethernet Hard IP(EHIP).  

This problem happens if you select an EHIP rate where "none" FEC mode is not supported, and then select the advanced mode option, the FEC mode parameter shows as an unknown value, "0".  

Resolution

To work around this problem in the Quartus® Prime Pro Edition software version 25.3, it is recommended to select the required FEC mode from the drop down menu in the GUI.  

This problem is scheduled to be fixed in a future release of the Quartus® Prime Pro Edition software.
