How can I use EPCQ-A Serial Configuration Devices in ASMI Parallel II Intel® FPGA IP when using Intel® Quartus® Prime Standard Edition software version 17.0.2 and earlier?

Description

The ASMI Parallel II Intel® FPGA IP does not support EPCQ-A Serial Configuration Devices when using Intel® Quartus® Prime Standard Edition software version 17.0.2 and earlier.  Support can be achieved by following the instructions below.

Resolution

Follow the procedure below to use EPCQ-A Serial Configuration devices with the ASMI Parallel II Intel FPGA IP in Intel Quartus Prime Standard Edition software version 17.0.2 and earlier.

a. Generate the ASMI Parallel II Intel FPGA IP with required settings in Intel Quartus Prime Standard Edition  software version 17.1 or later.

b. Add the .qip and  source files of generated ASMI Parallel II Intel FPGA IP in Intel Quartus Prime Standard Edition software version 17.1 or later into the Intel Quartus Prime Standard Edition software version 17.0.2 and earlier project.

c. Compile the complete project in Intel Quartus Prime Standard Edition software version 17.0.2 and earlier.
