Error occurred while reading with ReadFile: nios2-terminal: error: Gathering input from STDIO

Description

Due to a problem in the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 22.4, you might see the error when you input characters from the Nios II command shell on the Windows operating system:

Error occurred while reading with ReadFile: nios2-terminal: error: Gathering input from STDIO

Resolution

To work around this problem, replace the nios2-terminal.exe file in this directory : <quartus install dir>/22.4/quartus/bin64 using nios2-terminal.exe.

This problem is fixed beginning with the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 23.1.
