Error (170084): Can't route signal "~GND" to atom "<signal hierarchy>"

Description

You may see this error in Quartus® Prime Software version 15.1 or later when targetting Cyclone® V, Arria® V, or Stratix® V and using ASMI Parallel IP that utilizes the ASMI block. This error occurs because of the introduction of spi* ports meant for Arria 10 timing analysis purposes.

Resolution

You can work around this error when targeting Cyclone V, Arria V, or Stratix V devices by leaving the spi* ports unconnected.
