12 years agoHello,
I spent some time reading, and now understand a bit more. I'm sorry for my initial post which was probably too long. To my understanding, my biggest issue was that I took a .qsf file of another already existing project. Since it was my first try with quartus, I thought I'm doing right. I expected the .qsf to be just about basic board settings. That's why my pins were already set somehow, and I wondered why everything already had a context to each other and finally gave seemingly senseless errors. When I started w/o a provided settings file, things became much easier. --- Quote Start --- The pin planner sometimes get your assignments messed up, especially when deleting and recreating pins. You may have a better luck modifying your pin definitions in the assignment editor instead. It's a lot less user friendly, but you have more control, and if a pin name is assigned to two different pins, you can delete one of the two assignments. --- Quote End --- Thank you for the hint about the pin planner, though, it's good to know and to keep in mind. Starting with those things can be a bit confusing, at least for me.
