What do the words "Initial" and "Advanced" mean in the device selection window

I come across many devices having the words "initial" and "advanced" in the device selection window in Quartus II. These words appear right next to the name of the device in the list. What do these w...

So that people can generate designs for when the parts are released. Most of the timing information will be correct.
