11 years ago --- Quote Start --- Hi everybody, Yesterday I installed Quartus II 14.1 on my new Windows 8.1 computer. On my previous computer I have used Quartus 12 with no issues (W7 32bits). The new computer has the latest Microsoft updates installed. I opened one of my projects to see how the new version of Quartus behaves. Everything seemed to be fine except for the System Console which always crashes on launch. When launching the System Console from Quartus II, it briefly appears on the screen (less than a second) and then it's gone. When launched from Qsys, it briefly appears but then additionally, I get the following error message:
## A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment:# # EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) at pc=0x00007ffca1d01a86, pid=5616, tid=5308# # JRE version: Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (8.0_05-b13) (build 1.8.0_05-b13)# Java VM: Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (25.5-b02 mixed mode windows-amd64 compressed oops)# Problematic frame:# C # # Failed to write core dump. Thanks, Mark --- Quote End --- Me too! Any help appreciated. Tried looking at the log it references but no enlightening information to me. Tried updating both the 32 and 64 bit versions of Java with no luck. Tried launching console through Qsys and through command shell. Always immediately crashes.
