Solving USB Blaster missing in Programmer

Hi all,

Today when I started my first project in Quartus II v11, I ran into the problem some have with the USB blaster not showing up in the Programmer. I got it to work in my case by closing Quartus II, right clicking on the Quartus II app shortcut and checking "Run As Administrator". Not sure if this solves the problem for everyone but its worth a shot.

My setup is as follows:

- Quartus II Web Edition Version 11 Build 157

- USB blaster built into DE1 board

- Windows 7 SP 1

    I always had problems with USB blaster, when I was trying to install the driver i used to get the error that Windows cannot verify its digital signature, hadnt u faced the problem?

    I did get a warning but I chose the option to install anyway. If you like, make a screen shot of your error screen so I can compare my warning screen.

    Thank you for this tip. It worked for me. FYI, I had the same hardware/software.

    This instruction is not working for me. I use the latest software and the DE" board does not appear in Programmer. The board appears fine in device manager. I reinstalled Quartus, reinstalled the drivers, reinstalled everything, and none of the options work. I see many people have this problem of the DE2 board not appearing in Programmer and there is no official solution, only random tricks. Why is this the case?
