I'm of the few who use Quartus in the schematic entry mode. Apparently Quartus2 (8.0 Build 231) didn't evolve much in this respect. I have a data bus data[7..0] and amongst other places want to connect it to a place that only takes the lower 4 : data[3..0]. Sure, assuming that it automatically matches them would be asked for too much. Hinting that I should use a ... would also be asked for too much. I dimly remember a conduit... but it is not the solution, not this time. The solution appears to be to name the signals in a conduit and change the conduit back to a bus, the names stay. Pretty odd, IMHO.

I have a small project created, where you can see how to split a bus in a schematic.
Don't forget that a bus line must be a bold line.
