As per the Release Notes for the above referred release it looks like ModelSim is no longer available but the Questa. Can someone confirm that for me please?

With Quartus 21.1, Simulator switched to Questa. You can still simulate most designs with older ModelSim versions.

I see, then I guess I should downgrade my suite to say, @ least 20.1 in order to be able to get ModelSim in. Unless the latest suite version would allow me to incorporate ModelSim from 20.1 in.

Super ContributorQuartus version Lite/STD of 20.1 is the last to support modelsim.
Onward is Questasim, thus I guess it is correct.

Super ContributorModelSim and QuestaSim basically work the same. Very little reason to not use QuestaSim. I believe it runs faster and supports larger designs.
