quartus_map single file compilation

Hi,

I'm trying to use the command line QUartus_map.exe command with a single file. In the manual it says to write the top vhdl file name before the file used for compilation - this does work as expected.

But... When I try to compile a package file, it gives an error saying the top file is not correct.

What is the problem?

In my package file I do not have any entity, rather a bunch of registers and constants for the project.
