Quartus II, disable .bak generation

Quartus II has a bad habit of creating old .bak versions of files. How can I disable this?

Quartus, using 13.0, is definetely generating the files.

If I remove the .bak file and modify the original and save it, the .bak file reappers.

If you use a modern source revisioning system like git it is pointless that the tool creates new files by itself.
