Quartus 10.0 disabled PC's Standby mode

Hello

I have installed Quartus 10.0 on laptop with Windows XP service pack 3

After the installation I have noticed that the PC's option to switch to Standby Mode has dissapeared (i.e. if I click "Start" and then "Turn oFF", then the menu that appears has only "TurnOff" and "Restart" options.

The Standby option is not "selectable". Rebooting PC did not help

After that, I have un-installed Quartus. The "Standby" option "magically" appeared

Installed and un-installed Quartus a couple of times - if Quartus is installed, PC can not go into Standby

Appreciate the help / advice with that b/c is practically impossible to use a laptop with no Standby option

I have the exactly the same problem, so you are not alone. This only seems to be a problem with 10.0 and SP1.   So Altera any ideas?

I think that I have found the cause, the Altera Byteblaser device driver.

At a command prompt if I execute;

c:\altera\10.0\quartus\bin\bblpt.exe /r

Then the power options of Hibernate and Standby become active again.
