Poor Quartus 10.0 performance

Running Quartus 10.0 under RHEL4.5, it takes 50 seconds to open a file. It doesn't seem to matter if I use 1 or 4 processors. Just opening Quartus and getting to the "start designing" splash screen takes 83 seconds. Is anyone else experiencing poor performance with the new Quartus interface?

in my experience, the splash screen in 10.0 pops up more quickly in 10.0 than in previous versions (~2 seconds). this is on CentOS 4.7

Sounds suspiciously like a drive needing to retry lots of its reads. Have you tried a generic test of the drive?

Same project opens fine under Quartus 9. No other users are reporting any performance problems? I see the same behavior under Red Hat 5 as 4.5. Opening a file for editing took 73 seconds today. The entire project builds in 4 minutes, including 0 and 85 degree Timequest analysis, which indicates it's not a disk problem. I think I'll open a support case
