Netlist for Cyclone I on Cyclone III...is it possible?

Hello,

I'm not expert with the use of EDA netlist.

If I buy a netlist realized (with Synplify for example) for Altera Cyclone I (or Cyclone II), can I compile it with Quartus II for a Cyclone III device?

Or the netlist is device specific?
