Need to proceed with full compilation after pin re-assignment ?

Hello,

After reassignment of the port connection, is it necessary to proceed with full compilation?

I've tried with fitter (place & route) only ... and it didn't work.

    No. Full compilation is not necessary - and it will work (to a degree). Assuming the fitter stage completes successfully the output of that stage will use your revised pin assignments.

    However, you will need to run the Assembler stage as well in order to generate a programming file. I recommend you run timing analysis too to ensure all is well.
