License update for Quartus 7.2

Hi

I have migrated to Quartus 9.1 on one PC, and there is something not working out with the NIOS tools. Hence I have kept Quartus 7.2 on another PC, however the license has expired, and the Altera website no longer allows you to generate a new license file.

I have tried sending the .dat file to authorization@altera.com, but have received no response.

Is there anyone that can help me out with keeping version 7.2 alive?

Yes and yes. I would imagine the generator program would still exist, so I see no technical reason why the facility should be denied.

well ... web edition is a free tool.

and you have not paid for a subscription edition.

i guess they want you to use the actual tools, at least the free web edition.

what is your problem with the 9.1 ?

have you tried any other version beginning with 8.1 ?

It is still possible to get a free updated license for old, pre 8.1, versions of the Quartus Web Edition. At least it was possible last time I tried, a couple of months ago.

    Do you remember how ?

I haven't seen a link at the Altera Web Page for these old web editions.

Yes, there was a link at Altera web site. It was a bit buried tough. Sorry, don't remember the exact URL.

Thank you for the link. It was very helpful. I don't know why Altera has to make it so difficult to find.
