Hi,

I am new to Altera. Does Altera provide free software for simulation & synthesis like Xilinx Webpack. I guess the answer is yes and for that I have to download quartus ii web edition (free) from here (http://dl.altera.com/?edition=web). But I have downloaded quartus ii subscription edition from here (http://dl.altera.com/?edition=subscription). Is there any way I can convert my Subscription edition to web edition? I want to try Altera's software.

Nope, you cannot convert from sub to web ediiton. All you need to do is download the web ediiton and install it again

You may redownload the web edition again from https://www.altera.com/downloads/download-center.html.

I think you should have 30  trial days with the subcription edition perhaps you can try it out within this period.
