JTAG presenting an UNKNOWN_2E120DD on Auto Detect

The odd thing is that that is the correct JTAG ID for the Cyclone 10 GX device. We can program the part but SignalTap cannot identify the image as having a STP instance.

This is USBB-II. I've dropped the clock to 6MHz. I've tried Quartus Pro 17.1 and 18.0.

What could prevent Quartus from matching a JTAG ID to a device family?

You are able to program the fpga using programmer but not using signal-tap.Am i correct?

    Have you tried with 24M & 16M?

24M was the default where we started. Same issue. 6M was an attempt to gain more margin.

It was a jtagserver issue. I killed jtagserver, removed the USBBII and then downloaded and installed v18.0 pro programmer.

That got a local Win10 machine working.

I then did the same on a Linux (Ubuntu 16.04) machine that serves as a remote server. Installed v18.0 pro programmer and copied the pgm_parts.txt file over to /etc/jtagd/jtagd.pgm_parts

Killed jtagd and relaunched the v18.0 version.

    So far looking OK.
