Honored ContributorIs quartus and Nios II faster on 64bits OS than 32 bits OS?
Just want to know if I upgrade OS from 32bits xp to 64 bits win7 and 64bits java engine. Will it boost the compilation speed?

Altera_ForumIf it will, it will be so small, that You wouldn't notice. Use smart compilation setting ON in addition to design partitions, then every partition will be compiled in parallel using every core of the cpu.

I measured the difference at less than 1%

No faster, but as 64bit allows you > 3Gb ram, you may actually be able to compile some larger designs.
