How to use VGA on DE2-115 (Cyclone IV)

Hello everybody,

I'm Kimberley, I would like to know how to make use of the VGA port on the DE2-115 board using C++ code in Quartus II. I would like to be able to flip the switches and have the VGA port output a specific color on a monitor depending on which switch is flipped. For that I must use Quartus and Qsys software with NIOS II. I do not know how to initialize the VGA and how to control it. I'm waiting for your best reply.
