How to install Quartus II Web Edition Software on Ubuntu 11.04

I could not get VMWare Workstation or VirtualBox to recognize a USB-Blaster to the extent that it would actually work (I could sometimes get it detected).

I gave up and just dual-booted my testing laptop so that I could use Windows 7 or Ubuntu 11.04. I wanted the Ubuntu version, since Wireshark under Linux allows tracing the USB transactions, so you can view the USB-Blaster protocol.
