Honored Contributorhello,everyone! I want to implement a custom SOPC builder component in Quartus 9.0,when i clicked the File->New Component in SOPC builder,i only found five tabs in the Component Editor,and cannot find the SW File tab and the way to add soft files.
How can I add soft files in SOPC builder of Quartus 9.0?
Honored ContributorThe add component window only allows to configure the hardware part of your component. For the software part you must define a tcl file describing the driver. Hawe a look at the developing device drivers for the hardware abstraction layer (http://www.altera.com/literature/hb/nios2/n2sw_nii52005.pdf) chapter of the Nios II software handbook.

But why there is a SW file tab in add component window in Quartus 7.0?Honored ContributorIt's a good question. I haven't used SOPC on Quartus 7.0... I just know that manually creating and editing the tcl file is the recommended way now.
Honored ContributorThe software tab was done away with some time ago (7.1). Altera has moved to the _hw.tcl and _sw.tcl flow. You can still create a classic file structure as before for the software files if you'd like but I don't know if it will be supported in 9.1.
