Error while executing Nios Shell

Hi all,

I am using a quite old version, Quartus 4.2 along with Nios 3.2 SDK shell.

The operating system is Windows Vista.

While executing the Nios SDK shell, an error message is shown and doesnt go further to [SOPC Builder]$ prompt.

Error:

This is a kind of random issue which doesnt occur always. sometimes it works.

Any clues?

    Hi,

    Thank you for that.

    I dont see an option of using newer version of altera, as my h/w is the same old one which has a nios processor and the latest compatible one for it is quartus 4.2

    let me look at the link.

    ah, that very well may be, Vista was released quite a while after QII 4.2

    Suranand,

    Before you give up, please try disabling any Logitech Quickcam driver and virus detection. Both are listed as causes of "BLODA" and disabling the drivers should be pretty easy.
