Error (209034): Can't find JTAG Server + JTAG server stopped

Hi,

I am using Win 10, Quartus 18.1 with an arrow-blaster (with latest driver installed).

I am trying to program a .jic file to my Altera Stratix V device.

However, the programming fails with the following error codes:

Error (209034): Can't find JTAG Server
Error (209053): Unexpected error in JTAG server -- error code 44
Error (209053): Unexpected error in JTAG server -- error code 44
Error (209053): Unexpected error in JTAG server -- error code 44
Error (209012): Operation failed

I have tried running the programmer as administrator but it makes no difference to the end result.

Any help appreciated

Warm Regards

have you try to program a SOF file? does it work?

Also, can you check if you have the USB Blaster driver setup correctly?

      Hi Yuan,

      Thank you for the reply.

      1) I have tried to program a SOF file but it does give the same error as stated originally :

Error (209034): Can't find JTAG Server
Error (209053): Unexpected error in JTAG server -- error code 44
Error (209053): Unexpected error in JTAG server -- error code 44
Error (209053): Unexpected error in JTAG server -- error code 44
      Error (209012): Operation failed

      2) I am using an Arrow-blaster with the latest version (version 2.5) which can be found here ->

      https://shop.trenz-electronic.de/Download/?path=Trenz_Electronic/Software/Drivers/Arrow_USB_Programmer/Arrow_USB_Programmer_2.5

The programmer is capable of locating the hardware under 'hardware setup' - please see attached image.

      Thanks for the assistance,

      Warm Regards

It seems like it might be the blaster issue / driver installation issue. Do you have Intel USB Blaster II to test with?

      Hi Yuan,

Sorry for the late reply... I have used multiple blasters in testing and have installed the latest drivers. It still did not seem to have solved the issue.

Fortunately, I landed up us an Altera USB blaster and it did the job.

So I have parked this issue officially.

      Thank you for the assistance.
