"Attach Flash Device" is grayed out

Hi,

i have the stratix 2 gx dev board.

i want to programm it with a pof file, In order to do so i need to autodetect the max 2 epm570 and the flashdevice. if i press auto detect the epm570 and the eps2gx90 are shown in the chain, but i cannot Attach the Flash Device "CFI_512MB" because the "Attach Flash Device" is grayed out. In case i add the devices manually the attach flash device option isnt grayed out but by doing it this way i wasnt able to attach the pof file to the epm570... something like "cannot add programm object file to top level".

I tried it with a second stratix 2 gx dev board, which worked fine by auto detecting the flash memory.

i have read nearly every manual and tutorial about it and tried to push the S1 config button in every possible way like before and while the autodetect process.

i'm not the first owner of this dev board and maybe the flash is already programmed.

Quartus also display this message "Error: Unexpected error in JTAG server -- error code 5" while auto detect runs.

any suggestions?
