Altera – Modelsim problems

Question

When I start “Start Test Bench Template writer” I receive this error message

Cannot start test bench template writing—no EDA simulation tool specified

for ModelSim and ModelSim-Altera.

Still I’m getting same message.

Altera version Quartus 9.1

Modelsim Version: Altera Starter Edition 6.5b

Any ideas?

try choosing ModelSim-Altera in Assignments &gt; Settings &gt; EDA Tools &gt; Simulation, then running the writer

Is there any reason the file extension is vht? Should I rename it to vhd to work with the ModelSim?

.vht is just to differentiate that the file is a test bench, ModelSim will compile it without a problem
