SMA and LVDS in NIOS

I'm looking for someway to accept the output of a hardware Random Number Generator into a DE2 board. I'm currently considering using either the LVDS or SMA Clk port, however I haven't found anything that would help me learn how to use those. Can anyone point me in the right direction or have any code which I could work with?
