Simple Socket Server - Using SRam as Heap Memory?

I am using Simple Socket Server as a starting point. It works. But, when we tried to map heap memory to sram rather than SDRAM ( original ). Then, we cannot ping the board anymore. Any advice? Thanks.

    Run a memory test on the sram first. It could be a timing or pin connection problem (the Cyclone III development kit documentation has some errors on several SRAM pins).
