Real-time Clock on Evaluation Board

I'm actually using a Macnica Helio Eval Board because it has the battery for the RTC

and my Altera Cyclone V Eval Board didn't come with a battery.

I can set the RTC with the "date -s" command but when I reboot it reverts back to the

time that was set using the "date -s" command. I want to have the RTC run when the

power is off.

I can see that I have a /dev/rtc entry but if I open the device can I configure the

RTC to keep running?
