FreeRTOS now contains Nios II demo

Hi,

For those that are not familiar with it - FreeRTOS is a liberally licensed open source, pre-emptive, mini, real time kernel. Its usage has grown massively over the last 6 years and last year received a whapping 77,500 downloads.

A couple of days ago V5.4.2 was released. This new release contains the first official Nios II port and demo - which is actually a formalisation of code that has been used internally for some time. I hope it is of interest to some, and I would appreciate comments as this is the first foray into the Nios II world. I'm sure there are things that could be done to improve usability.

See http://www.freertos.org (http://www.freertos.org) for lots more info.

    Hi,

Very interesting solution for small companies like mine.

I am very interested in FreeRTOS and OpenRTOS, because we can use it for commercial applications.

    here my questions ?

Is it stable "enough" to use it in commercial applications ? I plan to try that OS. I know OpenRTOS provide warranty but no FreeRTOS.

Does it include Ethernet and SD_Card Controller solutions with FAT 16/32 ? Not a sperated licensed option ?

Really easy to use ? easier than uc/OS II ? eaiser than eCOS ? easy for a non expert (=some knoledge only) of OSes ?

Use with NIOS II IDE (unlike eCOS) ? No special environment dev? just 3 files to include !?

    Royalty free ? YES !

Does OpenRTOS fully work with NIOS II ?
