Error while generating nios ii BSP

With the latest eclipse i.e.

Version: Mars.2 Release (4.5.2)
Build id: 20160218-0600

when I am trying to generate a new BSP with sopcinfo file I am facing this error (attached below).

error: nios ii bsp wizard failed. create, generate and edit BSP using BSP editor, then import as Nios II software Build tools project.

when I try to create BSP with BSP Editor, I am not able to generate .project file due to which the generated BSP is not able to be used or imported into project.
