Ethernet IP Core for Agilex 5 E-Series

Hi, I have been looking at the Ethernet IP Cores for the Agilex 5 E-Series devices. I have mainly been looking at the following two IP Cores:

  • Triple-Speed Ethernet: IP-TRIETHERNET
  • Multirate Ethernet PHY: IP-10GMRPHY

I want to implement 16x 1G Ethernet Ports. I also want to implement 1588 on all the ports.

The Agilex 5 E-Series devices have a maximum of 6x GbE Hard IPs. Do the IP cores, mentioned above, make use of the Hard IP or not? So will I be able to implement more than 6 1 GbE ports, using IP cores, if I only have 6x 10/25GbE Hard IPs?

I want the ports to be 10M/100M/1000M. Can I implement 1588 on all 16 ports with both the above-mentioned IP cores?

Are there any other parameters that limit which E-Series devices will be capable of running 16x 1Gbe Ethernet ports with IP cores?

    Hi,

For the Agilex 5 E-series, it only have Ethernet IP up to 6 x10/25 GbE hard IP (MAC, PCS, and FEC) or 6 x10 GbE hard IP (MAC, PCS, and FEC).

    Best regards,

    Hi Zying,

Thank you for your reply. Do I need the GbE Hard IP (MAC, FEC, PCS) for the IP cores? Is there no way to implement 16x Ethernet ports (GbE) on the Agilex 5 E-Series?

    Kind regards,

    Nicole

    Hi Nicole,

Currently the "example_design" for this setting 16 ports are not available. Please refer to Presets to apply setting for example design.
