12 years agoSATA support was not a big priority for FPGAs. I have never seen or needed to look for a SATA demo, and I do not recall there being an Altera SATA MegaCore.
Google does indicate that cores exist: http://www.altera.com/products/ip/iup/ipm-index.jsp and Altera's web site has this page http://www.altera.com/technology/high_speed/protocols/sata-sas/pro-sata-sas.html But the cores are not from Altera. That's not to say they will not work, but it does mean you need to evaluate the cores before committing to using them. The cores from this company should come with examples, and they should be able to tell you which evaluation boards they work on. Altera also has this app note: http://www.altera.com/literature/an/an635.pdf You could also search the Altera wiki (http://www.alterawiki.com) to see if any information has been posted there. Cheers, Dave
