Control Ethernet external mcu instead of nios

hi！ everybody

because System design requirements,I want to Control Ethernet external mcu instead of niosII. I glanced at the datasheet,the ehernet IP interface is comminucate to niosII with avalon bus。

if i only minic the avalon bus timing to use MCU control ethernet instead of nios。

i have not use Ethernet and niosII before,some body who can give me some

detailed sugestion!

    What is the reason not to use Nios? Nios II/e is really small cpu.

    If You want to control the PHY using external CPU, then connect PHY MDIO to that CPU.
