Has anyone here used a winbond w25x80 flash chip in place of the altera epcs chips? Just wondering about compatibility.

Honored ContributorHaven't used a winbond chip. However, the EPCS devices are actually serial NOR flash purchased from Numonyx (previously STMicro):
