"WINBOND" on part#EPCQ32ASI8N ( so#807362 )

Hi Tech,

part#EPCQ32ASI8N

PO: 029-YW299

Our customer report below issue:

1 piece of samples was performed decapsulation test, found the words of “AAG051,
WINBOND” as attached image.

They want to know why "WINBOND" is shown on Intel's IC?

Could you help check and clarify?

Thanks.

I remember that previous EPCS devices identified itself per manufacturer ID register as OEM versions of Micron flash chips. Could be similar with EPCQ.

  • Hi,

Thank you for contacting Intel community.

Yes, WINBOND are printed on the EPCQA device. There should be no concern about this as it is valid.
