what 'merlin' stands for

Hi all, This maybe a silly question, but it indeed upsets me a lot. i currently use ddr3 controller in my project, and among the files generated by Quartus, there is a 'merlin' in the module ...

yes, i see, it may come from 'Arthur and Merlin Legend' including 'Avalon'.
